You cannot mention Saline without alluding to its now defunct salt industry. Flanked by two high hills, Saline valley is very flat and is therefore popular with walkers and cyclists. People come here to enjoy nature, walk, admire the multicolored salt pans and the birds which hide there.
People also come here for restaurants, including le Grain de Sel, l’Esprit des Salines, le PaCri and le Tamarin. Saline also has a magnificent long, quiet beach screened by a tall dune. There is a convenient parking lot at the end of the road, where there is always space to park.
The tranquility of Saline is a priority for its inhabitants, who protect and preserve it.
